The Pendulum TPD-2 is one of the most important components of the TRINITY system, with its inconspicuous mode of operation. You could also call it the drop-down generator of the TRINITY system. In the minimum configuration, the pendulum has a mass of approx. 700 g/1.54 lb, which is attached to the rotating pendulum arm. Because of gravity, this mass is always directed towards the ground. The pendulum ensures that when the TRINITY is in high mode, i.e. the camera is at the top, the lower part of the TRINITY is heavier than the upper part. If the TRINITY is now moved from top to bottom, the mass of the pendulum still points downwards and is therefore now closer to the gimbal, which represents the central axis of rotation of the system. Now the side where the camera is located becomes heavier than the opposite side of the system, causing the camera to move towards the ground as if by itself.
